I have not posted music in a while. Been listening to a lot of Middle-Earth related music...soundtrack stuff, music from the old 1980's Rankin-Bass animated film...Taking The Hobbits to Isengard (naturally), and such.
And a mishmash of folk metal and doom. Here are some of my favourites.
Some Celtic-themed folk metal.
Folk-doom...I was unaware until today that they had videos for some of their music.
Emphasis on doom. And violins. I have heard it said before that the violin used to be considered "the devil's instrument", and this is the only way I have ever heard it played where it sounded like it could be true.
Anyone else out there like these kinds of ridiculously long songs?
Well, there are some Sabbath tracks that are actually two or three songs that for some reason did not get separate tracks. And then several of the Metallica songs I grew up listening to are often eight minutes long or so.
Also, Kudos on the GiR graphic.
@NeverSubmit - My poetry prof tried to persuade me to listen to Sabbath...Icould never really get into their music though. :
